Our Goal

We started BCS to raise awareness, to educate and to help as many blockheads as we can. Our goal is to rebrand them, to reduce the amount of blockheads euthanized daily.

This is a big job we can’t do alone but any life saved is worth the effort. With the support of our friends we work together to make the world a better place for blockheads and the people who love them. As always, thank you for being here.

Starbuck

Starbuck is the dog who started it all! We adopted her in 2014 from Lotsa Love Pet Rescue. She was thrown from a moving vehicle and lost her back leg because of it. Starbuck was the best dog, and an amazing ambassador for the ‘breed’. She loved all humans and animals but especially her bunnies. We worked as a team try and raise awareness for dogs like her, and we learned so much along the way. It’s hard starting this new chapter without her physically by our sides, but Starbuck is the heart of BCS that keeps us going, to help as many blockheads we can, the best we can and share as much love and kindness along the way.

We adopted Pierogi from Santa Rosa County Animal Services in 2024. He was born with some deformities, including a front leg that needed amputation. He is the result of overbreeding, his whole litter was dumped at the shelter. What he lacks in brains he makes up for in heart and muscle. He is still navigating his strength, training and communication barriers, but he really is the goodest boy, a faithful sidekick and the best Blockhead in Charge to carry on Starbuck’s mission!

The Pack

While BCS would be nothing without the support of our friends, these blockheads have some extra duties and recognizing them is the least we can do.
